Description :
                  In winter season we get lots of green vegetables in market.In those vegetables spinach attracts more.Long circular leaves and big stalks of spinach makes us easy to find this vegetable.Leaves are sometime thick and sometimes thin and smooth.This vegetable is often eaten boiled and its stalks are also removed.But these stalks are very much nutritious and it should not be removed while cooking.Though we feel spinach as pungent while eating it but it is very beneficial for our good health.If the leaves of spinach are decayed and are lot of pores on it then these spinach should be eaten.Before eating spinach wash it properly as there is lot of mud on it which contains germs.It may also result in stomach infection.So before eating spinach soak it in water containing salt and turmeric for half an hour.Spinach is used to make its vegetable,curry,in rice and soup.
                 Spinach is available whole year.The growth of spinach is fast.The leaves of spinach are cool.The spinach was first cultivated by Arabians.Then Persians cultivated spinach.From Persia it spread to Spain and then in whole Europe.Now spinach is grown in whole world especially in the countries where climate is cool.More humid and cool climate the more will be juicy and green leaves.Spinach is not costly.It gives lot of protein as same as we get from eggs and flesh.If spinach is eaten with cucumber,tomato,onion and such types of vegetables then it is very beneficial for our heath.Spinach vegetable gives very good taste when olive oil and some lemon juice is used in it.Because of lemon the whole iron is absorbed in our body.The spinach is 0.5-1.0 foot tall.The stalk is long.Spinach is cultivated many times in a year.The seeds are sowed in fields and within 3-4 weeks spinach is ready.

                 Spinach contains Sodium, Potassium, Magnesium, Carbohydrates, Fats, Vitamin A, B6, C and D, Iron and Calcium.

Medicinal uses :
  • When we eat our food then our digestive system does various processes on it and then the unwanted material us pushed out as excreta.This process of excretion depends on health of our intestines.On this problem that is constipation people should eat spinach.Because of eating spinach intestines gets proper nutrition and becomes healthy.The working of muscles is properly maintained.The fibers in spinach are also good on constipation.Take out juice of 5-7 leaves of spinach.To this juice add a pinch of black slat and one tablespoon of lime juice.Take this mixture twice a day.
  • Iron, Vitamin B, C and Copper take care of our blood.Iron creates good quality of Hemoglobin.Copper helps for production of RBCs and vitamin C helps to absorb iron.Vitamin B is useful for healthy cells of blood.Spinach cures Anemia.So it spinach regularly.
  • For strong bones, teeth and nails calcium is essential which is present in spinach with large amount.Due to deficiency of calcium our bones become fragile, nails break easily and may create infection.Various dental problem arises.For absorption of calcium, phosphorus is needed which is present in spinach with good amount.So eat spinach regularly and drink spinach juice.
  • In our body there is one substance named as Homocysteine which is present in our blood.If level of Homocysteine increases then the internal lining in veins starts damaging and blood circulation in heart gets affected which may result into heart attack.Potassium present in spinach is very useful for heart.It maintains the proper level of Homocysteine.It maintains our blood pressure.For this have spinach in your diet regularly.
  • Spinach contains Vitamin A, Zea Xanthin and Leutin.These three substances are very much useful for our eyes.If we eat spinach regularly then there will be no eye related problems such as cataract, dryness of eyes and spectacles.
  • Spinach cures night blindness, acidity and increases immunity of our body.
